Classes Offered

Scholar Projects

Offered for teens aged 12-18.  Each scholar class is designed to help youth gain the skills, character and intellect to become a statesmen in society.   Students will be challenged to study classics, have meaningful discussions, think like a scientist, and try new field experiences while being coached into greatness by a mentor.

Scholar Projects

Love of Learning

These classes are offered for students aged 8-12.  Students will be exposed to many different subjects, like art, handicrafts, cooking, gardening and literature.  Expect just about anything that is  hands-on, engaging and inspiring for our young learners.

Love of Learning

Core Phase

For our littlest ones, aged 0-7.  This group has simple, structured time for reading stories, making music and creating art.  Plenty of open, imaginative play.

Mom’s Class

A once-a-week class for the parents (dads included) that helps adults to continue their own education, and become better mentors to others.

Starting in September:  Classes every Thursday, 10:00 am – 3:00pm.

Interested families are welcome to come visit us any Thursday or join us for summer meet-ups and field trips to meet our families.
Please contact us first to let us know you are coming.

Inclement Weather Policy:  If Tacoma School District schools are closed, then FILA will also be closed.

FILA is a wonderful learning environment. I get to share my passions with the students and we learn and grow together. The school is well organized and efficient. But what keeps me coming back are the wonderful friendships with other homeschool families who support me and my kids. We are a part of a tribe that I am proud to be a part of.
